About
tired old robot is the creative endeavor of Luke Osowski. An artist, musician, and maker, Luke lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, daughter, and their cat.
For many years, Luke’s focus was on intricate wire sculptures, often incorporating found objects. He spent years creating a vast menagerie of creatures, daemons, and oddities out of thousands of tiny pieces of wire. Eventually incorporating small drawings into his sculptures, he discovered he had a love for drawing.
For the next few years, Luke focused almost entirely on his two dimensional works, bringing some of the intricacies of his wire work into his drawings. He added large ornate hair styles and clothing to his ever expanding pack of creatures, animals, and daemons.
Inspired by the birth of his daughter, Luke wanted to make her a one-of-a-kind art toy. After making her first one, an owl, he was hooked. Made out of fleece and felt, he discovered that soft sculpture was a perfect medium for combining all of the two- and three-dimensional skills he had honed over the previous years. Designed to bring a little more joy into a sometimes dark world, his creatures are sent out to work their magic.
